Can God Forgive Me?
Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. 1
AMEN! To be forgiven is almost indescribable. The guilt, the shame, the weight of sin washed away, forgotten, gone.
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. 2
YES! The truth is that God can and will forgive you through Jesus Christ. All things are possible with God.
When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved? But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. 3
Jesus demonstrated his desire and ability to forgive sins.
And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city. And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee. And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth. And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts? For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk? But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house. And he arose, and departed to his house. 4
When God forgives, the sin disappears as though it never happened. He makes you white as snow.
Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. 5
Forgiveness is only possible through Jesus Christ. He makes you white as snow by washing you with His blood.
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; 6
One final thought - God spoke the universe into existence and created you in His image knowing that you would sin against Him. He sent Himself in the person of Jesus Christ to die on a cross for you and uses imperfect men to communicate His perfect Truth. Frankly, that seems a whole lot more difficult to conceive than God being unwilling or unable to forgive you.
